Overview

An engineer who works in manufacturing will usually have a degree in industrial or mechanical engineering. Industrial engineers help to set up and improve a manufacturing process or manufacturing equipment. They also may test and monitor the quality of manufactured products. Engineers will also work to develop and apply advanced manufacturing processes and technologies such as robotics, automation and intelligent controls.
